NW Public TV Brings MHz Worldview to E. Washington & N. Idaho

FALLS CHURCH, VA- Northwest Public Television of Pullman and Richland, WA is the newest affiliate of MHz Worldview.  Northwest Public Television launched as the 30th national MHz Worldview affiliate on August 23. 

MHz Worldview is available to Pullman area viewers via digital broadcast channel KWSU 10.1 and digital cable on Time Warner Cable channel 10 and 710. KWSU is also available in Spokane, WA on Comcast channel 18. Richland area viewers can tune in to KTNW digital broadcast channel 31.3.

Northwest Public Television programming reaches over 638,000 households in the Spokane and Yakima markets. Northwest Public Television is owned by Washington State University and managed by The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication.

KTNW provides service to residents of the Columbia Basin region, while translator station, K15CH, rebroadcasts KWSU-TV to the communities of Lewiston, Idaho and Clarkston, Washington.

The mission of Northwest Public Television is to advance education, citizenship and culture in the region served by Washington State University by informing people and promoting dialogue about the issues facing their world and their communities; by encouraging interest in our culture by making available excellent performance and original creation in the arts and humanities; and by extending educational opportunities through informal learning offered in educational programming.

WSU has been involved in broadcasting since 1908 and is among the oldest broadcast stations of its kind, having begun operation in 1962. The services provide a regional source of information, arts, culture and public affairs programming to enhance the quality of life in the communities served.
