New Programs Debut on MHz Worldview in January

FALLS CHURCH, VA- New programs premier on MHz Worldview in January, varying from drama to foreign affairs, from international mysteries to news magazine.

Doha Debates
Sundays, 11 AM ET
The Doha Debates are a unique venture in the Arab world, providing a battleground for conflicting opinions
and arguments about the major political topics of the region.
While governments around the world tighten restrictions on press freedom, the Doha Debates openly dissect
the vital issues of the Middle East in front of its people and on global TV.
For the first time in their life, many young Arabs are having their say on key political questions –
challenging politicians and experts face to face.
They engage in time-honoured rivalry – where the only weapons are words.
They practice the art of peaceful disagreement: understanding and respecting different views.
It’s a new reality. A new way forward. Chaired by the award-winning former BBC correspondent and
interviewer Tim Sebastian. Broadcast in English.

Inspector Coliandro
Premiers on Sundays, International Mysteries Prime Time, 9 PM ET
Coliandro, a young, low-ranking police officer in Bologna, accidentally comes into contact with Nikita when
she comes to see a colleague of his in another department. She wants to show him a suspect package that
she has been given to deliver. Coliandro, seeing this as his big break in the force, offers to help her. The
package contains a large sum of money in cash and a mysterious floppy disk that blocks the police
computing system. When they try to deliver the package to the addressee, they find him dead in his office.
With the help of a hacker, they manage to open up the disk and find that it contains the accounts of a
company that is clearly a front for money laundering. Not knowing which way to turn, with the crooks hot
on their trail, Coliandro and Nikita have to find their way through the complex ties between the police, the
Mafia and the judicial system to find out exactly whom they can trust. Directed by the Manetti Brothers,
2003, color. In Italian with English subtitles.

New Detective Montalbano (2008 season) and Henning Mankell’s Wallander premier in January on Sunday evening International primetime, on January 10 and 24, respectively.

Thursday evening prime time launches as Cinema & Drama in January.
The evening premiers with Korean television dramas, Alone in Love and Someday.
Thursdays, 9 PM & 12 Midnight ET

Alone in Love
Alone in Love is a smart contemporary love story that dives into the complex world of love and relationships. Eun-ho (Son Ye-jin, Summer Scent, Lovers Concerto, April Snow) and Dong-jin (Karm Woo-Sung, The King and the Clown- the most successful Korean film of all time) were once happily married. Now divorced, their lives are impossibly entangled together.  Unable to leave each other alone, they get a second chance to make their relationship work.

But in order to have a future together, they must be willing to face their past. Will they be able to confront the tragedy they spent three years trying to forget?

Hana Yamaguchi (Bae Doo-Na, The Host) is a successful young cartoonist. Although she writes romantic comics, she is analytical and pessimistic about love.  Nicknamed the “Love Analyzer”, Hana sees love as a simple biological response. But when her cartoon is discontinued, she sets off on a journey to discover what love really is.
